Introducing PurKara: Purify Karma Radio

Today I'm launching a new project called PurKara, short for Purify Karma Radio.

Visit:

The idea is simple.

Many people enjoy listening to mantras, sacred names, prayers, affirmations, meditation audio, or spiritual teachings while they work, relax, drive, study, or sleep. We spend countless hours listening to content online every year, but what if those listening hours could also be organized into a community effort dedicated toward positive intentions and causes?

PurKara is an experiment in that direction.

How It Works

Users create a free account and listen to a looping chant audio stream.

As time passes, the system calculates the equivalent number of chants heard and records them in the user's account.

Each user has:

  • Total Listened (lifetime)
  • Current Balance
  • Lifetime Dedicated

Listening builds a balance over time.

Users can then dedicate some or all of their balance to community causes.

Examples might include:

  • World Peace
  • Animals and Wildlife
  • Environmental Protection
  • Health and Healing
  • Family and Friends
  • Personal Growth
  • Any cause added by the community administrators

When a user dedicates their balance, the dedication is permanently recorded and added to the total for that cause.

A Community Merit Pool

One of the things that fascinates me is the idea of many people contributing small amounts toward something larger.

A single listener may contribute the equivalent of a few hundred chants.

A community may contribute millions.

PurKara lets everyone see the combined totals growing over time.

Imagine visiting the site and seeing:

  • 12,000,000 total chants listened
  • 4,500,000 chants dedicated to wildlife
  • 3,200,000 chants dedicated to peace
  • 1,800,000 chants dedicated to healing

Whether you view merit spiritually, symbolically, psychologically, or simply as an expression of goodwill, it creates a visible record of collective intention.

Live Chat While Listening

PurKara also includes a live chat room for listeners.

People listening at the same time can:

  • Share experiences
  • Discuss practice
  • Encourage one another
  • Talk about causes they support

The chat is intentionally lightweight and keeps only the most recent messages so the system stays simple and fast.

Why I Built It

For years I've been interested in chanting, repetition, mindfulness, and small daily actions that accumulate over time.

A single chant may feel insignificant.

A single drop of water may seem small.

Yet many drops can fill a bucket.

PurKara is built around that same idea.

Small actions repeated consistently can create surprisingly large totals.

Whether you participate for spiritual reasons, meditation practice, curiosity, community, or simply because you enjoy listening, you're welcome to join.

An Ongoing Experiment

PurKara is still evolving.

Future ideas may include:

  • Additional audio streams
  • Listening statistics
  • Community milestones
  • Anonymous listener maps
  • Personal listening journals
  • New dedication categories
  • Group events and challenges

For now, the goal is simple:

Listen.

Accumulate.

Dedicate.

Contribute.
