Initial Game Concept - Tetris Like Gravity, Puzzle Like Kid's Toy Where You Put Shapes into slots.
After making stop motion of my plastic dude. Model Waving - Stop Motion (youtube.com)
And this sort of came after morphing a bunch of basic shapes like circle, square, triangle and stars to other shapes.
And I like tetris.
So I came up with initial Game Concept that you see in this video.
Tetris Like Game Concept - Stop Motion (youtube.com)
So basically, I would have a bunch of half rectangles that are cut with different grooves from their matching half.
And the other half would drop down from the top and player has to control it like tetris but instead of tetris pieces, they have to match the half rectangles (with different grooves that are shown).
I think the game would be simple but fun to play.
After thinking up this idea and making this stop motion video, I thought how it's like a crossbreed between tetris and puzzles (because of matching slots) and the shapes well it could partially be related to kids toys where you drop a shaped circle/triangle/square into matching slots.
I was hoping someone would pick it up professionally and I'd just make 5% but I tried posting to reddit.com/r/gamedev which got directed to /r/gameideas.
So I'll go try posting again there now since my initial post was too short and they didn't like it.
I think I'll just cut and paste above descriptions to there:
I just did and it's still too short of description.
I think I'll just go make my own then probably not professionally but I think it'll be fun.
UPDATE:
Here's the very first version of the game: Match 'Em Grooves (yourquietfriend.blogspot.com)
Here's 2nd version: Match 'Em Grooves v2 (yourquietfriend.blogspot.com) (featuring 23 different pieces/pairs with later added pairs in different colors).
The different colored ones are texture from Costco Connections magazine/info/ad booklet to try to stay true the initial concept for fun.
